About the Participation Fund

For several years, the Participation Fund, as a public credit institution, has been exercising its social objective primarily via the granting of advantageous loans for the benefit of its target audience.

Gradually, in view of its accumulated know-how and/or on the initiative of the legislator or the federal government, the institution has seen its assignments extending to the provision of administrative, technical and financial services for the benefit of other organisations, primarily public or parapublic.

The Participation Fund has strongly evolved in this direction and today, its strategic objectives can be redefined as follows:

To maximise the impact of the interventions of the Participation Fund, federal public credit institution, in a rationale of supporting small company activity and contributing to the fight against unemployment, in a spirit of openness and partnership with regard to the other players of the sector;
To share the Fund’s know-how with other organisations, with the particular objective of facilitating private individual and legal entity access to business credit, by providing it to them on the best conditions of top-class technical and financial quality services;
As “a centre of excellence” recognised for its expertise, to disseminate and co-ordinate a better practice of small-company financing.
